Omid Djalili is to appear on Question Time next week. The comedian will share the stage with Justice Secretary Liz Truss and Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott in the show, coming from Southend-on-Sea. It will be Djalili's second appearance on the programme, having previously been on in 2014.

TIM VINE is to record a special Christmas edition of his Radio 4 chat show, in which he interviews members of the audience. Fans attending the taping in London next week are encouraged to wear Christmas jumpers – even though the show is for the radio. Free tickets to the show are available here.

SKY 1 has released the first image of Dawn French in her new dramatic role in Delicious. The comic appears alongside Emilia Fox as two women who clash after being betrayed by the same man, a hotelier played by Iain Glen, also pictured. The show airs next month.

THE finalists have been announced for the comedian of the year competition run by Liverpool's Hot Water Comedy Club. The 100+ entries have been whittled down to Si Wozniak, Eddie Fortune, Stu Woodings, Radu Isac, Jack Gleadow and Josh Pugh. The final takes place at the Holiday Inn on Lime Street on Sunday.
