Radio 4 to showcase regional comedy scenes

New series hosted by Elis James

Elis James is to front a new stand-up show for Radio 4 showcasing comedians from different regions of the UK.

State Of The Nations will be recorded in Glasgow, Newcastle, Carmarthen and a Northern Irish venue yet to be announced.

The BBC says the show aims to discover ‘how where we’re from influences our sense of humour’, but has not yet announced the comedians taking part.

James is known to Radio 4 audiences from his regular appearances on The News Quiz, and has also starred in the BBC Three sitcoms Crims and Josh, and he is currently on tour with his XFM co-host John Robins.

State Of The Nations will be taped next months, and tickets are available via our free tickets page.
