Outnumbered Christmas special confirmed
Outnumbered is to return to BBC One for a Christmas one-off, co-creator Andy Hamilton has confirmed.
It will be the first outing of the Brockman family in almost three years, and could spell the start of series of occasional comebacks.
‘Our plan is to pop in every couple of years and see how the family is getting on,’ Hamilton told the Daily Telegraph.
‘You learn not to think too far ahead, but who knows? Many years down the line there’ll be an episode where Karen becomes a grandmother.’
And he said that he expected the first reaction from viewers to the new episode to be: ‘‘My God, the kids are huge now!’
Outnumbered started in 2007, when the children, played by Ramona Marquez, Daniel Roche and Tyger Drew-Honey were six, eight and 11
The Christmas special comes despite Hamilton saying last year that he wanted to avoid the festive period: ‘We’ve done a few Christmas specials, but you kind of disappear in a big gap of Christmas programming,’ he said. ‘We’re kind of inclined to do it somewhere else if we can.’
Seems that BBC One had other ideas…
