David Brent movie takes £1.5million
THE David Brent movie Life On The Road took £1.46million at the box office in its opening weekend, behind Finding Dory (£2.86m) and Suicide Squad (£2.55m).
PAUL FOOT and Pete Firman have received 'spirit of the Fringe' awards from festival veteran Melvyn Stutter. Foot's citation was for being 'innovative, surreal, charming, edgy and fun,' while Firman, in his 10th Edinburgh show, was hailed as one of the best comedic magicians in the UK. THE guests have been announced for the next series of Richard Ayoade's travel show Travel Man: 48 Hours In... He will be joined by Jack Dee in Naples, Katherine Ryan in New York, Paul Rudd in Helsinki and Adam Buxton in Lisbon when the series returns to Channel 4 later this year.
EDDIE IZZARD has announced a outdoor gig in his home town of Bexhill On Sea with just a few days' notice. The stand-up will perform his latest show Force Majeure: Reloaded outside the De La Warr Pavilion – with the sea and the sunset as his backdrop – this Sunday. Tickets go on sale at 10am tomorrow, priced £20 to £30, with proceeds going to the theatre's charitable trust.
