Susan Calman to host kids' quiz
CBBC series starts next month
Susan Calman is to host a televised hunt for Britain’s smartest school.
Top Class will pitch 16 primary schools against each other a knockout series testing teams’ knowledge; while in one round teachers will be put on the spot about pop culture.
Susan Calman said: ‘I had so much fun testing these fabulously talented kids; they constantly amazed me with their determination, competitiveness and all-round cleverness. I learned more from them than they did from me.’
Fifteen half-hour shows will air on CBBC in September, and channel controller Cheryl Taylor said: ‘Susan Calman brings her usual comedic genius to this tough tournament.’
All primary schools in the UK were invited to enter Top Class. Each team comprises four pupils from year 6 (primary 7 in Scotland and Northern Ireland).
