Sky appoints a new comedy commissioner

Tilusha Ghelani joins from BBC

Comedy commissioner Tilusha Ghelani is leaving the BBC to join Sky.

Her new job will be to oversee existing shows (or ‘established brands’ as the broadcaster puts it) as well as unearthing ‘the most exciting new shows and very best talent’

Previously an assistant comedy commissioner at the BBC, Ghelani  previously spent 12 years as a comedy producer working across more 150 programmes, including Paul Whitehouse’s Nurse and Just a Minute.

She said: ‘I've always been passionate about comedy so I'm thrilled to be joining Sky’s comedy commissioning team. I’m looking forward to making my mark with excellent new shows.’

Jon Mountague, Sky’s head of comedy commissioning added: ‘It is great that Sky can attract top talent such as Tilusha. I'm sure she will help us cement our place as the home of the very best comedy.’

Tilusha is due to take up her new role as comedy commissioning editor in August, where the slate she inherits includes Stella, Trollied and Rovers.
