Comic cuts Fringe run to cover Games

Justin Moorhouse has cancelled the first two weeks of his Edinburgh run to cover the Olympics for the major broadcaster that is… furniture store DFS.

The retailer is an official Team GB sponsor, and Moorhouse will be reporting back on events in the British House in Rio de Janeiro, the athletes' official home.

The comic's footage will go out on the Team GB Facebook account as well as The DFS YouTube, Twitter and Instagram sites.

He said: 'At this stage of my life I thought my days of Olympic participation were behind me, but no, anything is possible it seems.

'I can't wait to see what Rio and the British House has to offer and equally am looking forward to belatedly starting my run at one of my favourite places in the world - the Gilded Balloon in Edinburgh.

'Not a bad August hey? From Rio and the biggest multi-sporting event on the planet to the The Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world.'

Moorhouse will now start his Fringe run on August 17, with Reggie Yates taking over for the final leg of the DFS coverage.

The DFS shows are being produced by Jack Brough at content company The Moment. Brough has previously worked on Celebrity Juice, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and The Rob Brydon Show.

DFS has even created an official sofa for Team GB:

• Moorhouse is hosting Radio 5 Live's sporting panel show Fighting Talk at 11am this Saturday.
