Jasper Cromwell-Jones is Old Comedian Of The Year
JOE BOR has won this year's Old Comedian Of The Year competition run by London's Leicester Square Theatre in the guise of privileged adventurer Jasper Cromwell-Jones. Runner-up in the competition for over-35s was Richard Rycroft in his alter-ego of Magnus Turner MP, and third place went to Kelly Kingham. Our review will be published tomorrow.
COMEDIANS are to perform a stand-up show at 7 o'clock… in the morning. Adam Hess, Sofie Hagen and Ed Gamble are setting their alarms for the gigi in London tomorrow as part of a promotion sponsored by Lipton Ice Tea to 'extend the weekend' by an extra few hours. And the audience at the sold-out show in Central London will be laying down on pillow forts to soak up the comedy.
BILL BAILEY has been added to the line-up of the V Festival, joining the likes of Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe, Sara Pascoe and Katherine Ryan at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire on the weekend of August 20 and 21. Bailey is also playing the Latitude festival this summer.
AUSTRALIAN YouTube pranksters The Janoskians have announced a UK tour. The comedy boy band make YouTube videos which largely chronicle stunts in which they irritate unsuspecting members of the public, and attract up to 7.5million views. They will be at Manchester Academy, Glasgow's Garage, Newcastle University, The Forum in London and Birmingham's Asylum in October.
THE finalists for the fresh comedian of the year competition run by the Comedy Knights club have been named.
