Mark Hamill joins Man Down

Star Wars hero in Greg Davies sitcom

Luke Skywalker is joining Greg Davies comedy Man Down.

Or at least Star Wars hero Mark Hamill is, with a guest role in the third series which starts next month.

However producers Avalon Television are remaining tight-lipped about his character, who appears in just one episode.

Also joining the cast are Steven Berkoff, who plays a terrifying Eastern European caretaker at the school where Davies' character Dan teachers; Sir Tony Robinson as Deadalus, a new suitor for Dan's mum (Gwyneth Powell); and Isy Suttie.

Stephanie Cole, Roisin Conaty and Mike Wozniak will also be reprising their roles when the series returns to Channel 4 in the week of July 9.
