'Sounds like offensive nonsense to me...'

WTF: Weekly Trivia File

• 'A lot of comedy is removing what isn't funny, it's like sculpting.' Jerry Seinfeld on writing.

• Irish comedian PJ Gallagher has recalled his worst ever gig: when a heckler threw over a table during his set – and nobody even noticed. It happened during a corporate gig at a restaurant in about 2012, which descended into chaos. The man stood up directly in front of the comic and started 'roaring noise' at him. Trying to take control, Gallagher asked him where he was from, and he said Russia. The comic admits his response was 'a stupid joke': 'If you don't sit down you'll get a kicking in the Bolsheviks.' The heckler's comeback was to put the comic in a headlock and throw him over a table. 'It was one of those corporate gigs that was going so badly that nobody even noticed,' Gallagher told the Irish Mirror. 'So I ran out the door.'

• Talk about backhanded compliments. Amy Schumer discussed Tig Notaro in an interview with Vanity Fair, in which she said of her fellow comedian: 'Looking masculine and being gay, the challenges of the road are 20 times harder for Tig than other female comedians. People fear what they don't understand.' And that is of someone she described as a 'close friend'. Notaro was certainly none-too chuffed, tetchily telling The Guardian: 'I don't know what she was talking about. It sounds like offensive nonsense to me. I find that so offensive and weird… If you knew me well, you would never say that.'

• Without comment:

• We've been having fun doing Google reverse image searches on some Edinburgh Fringe shows' images to see what the search engine thinks the pictures are of. Lots come back as 'person' or 'man', while Colin Hoult dragged up as Anna Mann came back as the flattering 'fashion model'. But also came some very weird results: Mark Dolan, Google thought was a guy called Patrick Harrison (we've no idea. It's the name of a Mississippi firefighter who had a face transplant, but we don't think it's him); the best guess for the image for Thrones! The Musical came back as Life And Time Of Jesus; while the logo for the Off The Kerb Showcase came back as 'Taco Bell menu 2014', which may or may not be a sharp satirical comment on the fast-food nature of the big agency offerings.

• Thieves have broken into Kevin Hart's Los Angeles home and stolen more than $500,000 in valuables – including jewellery, watches and clothing. 'Material items can be taken away at anytime but a positive outlook and understanding of life and what's really important can never be compromised, ' he said. 'I have what I value the most which is my family and my health.' And an estimated $28.5million in the bank.
