Anna Wintour does stand-up
Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has tried stand-up for a new online video.
She switched jobs with Amy Schumer for a promotional clip to mark the comic's appearance on the front cover of the US magazine.
In a sketch written by Schumer the pair mock each others' professions, with the comic surmising that Wintour's job amounts to barking: 'That's not in any more, that jacket's out!', while the fashionista regurgitates stand-up cliche of 'the difference between men and women'.
They then trade places, with Wintour filmed on stage at the Comedy Cellar in New York while Schumer is seen struggling with couture and a tiny lunch in Vogue's glamorous offices.
In contrast, London-born Wintour is shown taking to stand-up like a pro, even asking 'who books that?' when discussion turns to a particular club backstage.
Wintour's opening joke is: 'Is anybody here on a first date? Last date?' And she's seen signing off with the Game of Thrones pun: 'Wintour is coming' before dropping the mic to rapturous applause.
Here is the sketch.
Schumer's is pictured on the cover of July's American Vogue, photographed by Annie Leibovitz in a red off-the-shoulder Dolce and Gabbana gown.
