Alan Carr goes to the prom
Alan Carr is to host a two-hour celebration of 1950s Americana, called Prom Night Live, for Channel 4. The Grease-inspired special, to air next month, will transform a British school hall into a 1950s dance. Carr said: 'This must make me Northampton's answer to Vince Fontaine.'
NETFLIX has ordered a surreal animated series about puberty, from comedian Nick Kroll and Family Guy writer Andrew Goldberg. The 10-episode series – which will star Kroll, John Mulaney and Maya Rudolph – will launch next year.
ENTRIES have opened for this year's Amused Moose Comedy Award, for performers with full-run shows in this year's official Edinburgh Fringe programme who have not been nominated for any major comedy award. Videos of full shows must be uploaded by midnight on Sunday August 7. There is no cash prize, but a performance at the Soho Theatre and recognition for joining the ranks of previous winners Tony Law, Marcel Lucont, Celia Pacquola, Jess Robinson and Richard Gadd.
THE Halifax Comedy Festival has announced its headliners – with tours from Jimmy Carr, Romesh Ranganathan, Andrew Lawrence, Al Murray and James Acaster passing through the town during the event, from October 21 to 29.
JIMMY KIMMEL, Lisa Kudrow, Alec Baldwin, Patton Oswalt and Steve Buscemi have all signed up to lend their voices to new Dreawmworks animation Boss Baby, about a seven-year-old who decides he has to win back the love of his parents after the birth of his bossy baby brother.
