Amy Schumer to make her UK debut
Amy Schumer is to perform her first ever stand-up shows in the UK.
The comic is set to announce three dates, starting at the Edinburgh Playhouse on Tuesday August 30 – the day after the Fringe finishes.
She then plays the Manchester Apollo on September 3 and London’s O2 Arena the following night. She will also play a date in Dublin on August 26.
Schumer today tweeted the dates, originally revealed on Chortle, saying: 'I'm going abroad!
The Amy Schumer Live tour will come hot on the heels of the Trainwreck star’s first book, The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo, which is due out on August 16. (Preorder)
Yesterday, it was announced that Schumer will star in the comedy movie Who Invited Her?, playing an overbearing friend who gatecrashes a bachelor party.
She is currently working on an untitled mother-daughter film, which will mark Goldie Hawn’s return to the big screen after a 14-year absence, and will next be seen in the independent movie Thank You For Your Service, about soldiers returning from Iraq who struggle to integrate back into family and civilian life.
Schumer made her network debut in 2007 when she placed third in on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and later co-starred on an episode of 30 Rock.
But her career really took off when Inside Amy Schumer launched on Comedy Central in April 2013. Her last one-hour comedy special, Live at the Apollo was directed by Chris Rock and became HBO’s most watched Saturday night comedy special debut since 2009 when it aired in October.
Tickets for her UK dates, priced from £35 to £130, go on sale at 10am on June 10.
