Ron Funches to play Soho Theatre

American comedian Ron Funches is to make his UK debut next month.

The comic, who plays Shelly in the NBC sitcom Undateable, and describes himself as ‘a large black man who giggles like an Asian princess’, will be at the Soho Theatre from June 10 to 18.

His TV stand-up performances in the States include The Conan O’Brien Show, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and improv panel game show @Midnight with Chris Hardwick.

Funches has also been in Will Farrell and Kevin Hart’s movie Get Hard and Bruce Willis’ Going Under as well as providing voiceovers for several animated shows and movies including Bojack Horseman, Bob’s Burgers and the upcoming Dreamworks film Trolls.

He released his debut stand-up album last year, The Funches Are Us, which he recorded at Denver’s Comedy Works and which can be heard
