Time travelling comedy for David Mitchell
David Mitchell is to star in a new time-travelling sitcom.
Radio 4 favourite John Finnemore and stand-up London Hughes also star in a pilot episode of Time Spanner, along with its writer, Simon Kane. Kane has previously written sketches for Mitchell and Webb, both on TV and radio.
The new show, for Radio 4, is being described as being about 'time travel, an evil self-storage empire, a slightly defensive angel and something rather a lot like love at first sight'.
Finnimore revealed that he had been cast as a 'dead dog', and tweeted that the script was 'incredibly funny and strange and moving but especially funny'.
Time Spanner will be recorded in front of a studio audience in London next month. Click here for tickets.
It is produced by the BBC's Gareth Edwards, who also produced That Mitchell and Webb Look and That Mitchell and Webb Sound.
Mitchell is currently starring as Shakespeare in Ben Elton's BBC Two sitcom, Upstart Crow.
