Channel 4 buys hit Belgian comedy

Channel 4 has picked up the rights to a hit Belgian comedy dubbed 'Desperate Housewives on acid'.

The Out-Laws revolves around four sisters with a shared hatred and loathing for Jean-Claude, husband of their fifth sibling – and decide to bump him off.

Channel 4 say Jean-Claude is 'one of the best baddies in TV history - by the end of the series you’ll be baying for his blood'. His nickname is De Kloot, or 'The Cunt', and he is buried in the first episode with the rest of his story told in flashback.

The ten-part series was called Clan when it aired in Belgium in 2012.

It launches on Channel 4 in early June as The Out-Laws and will be available on demand on Walter Presents.

Here is a trailer.
