BURNISTOUN creators Iain Connell and Robert Florence are to make their London debut with their new live show, Uncles. The show, which premiered at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival in March (Review) will be at the Soho Theatre on July 12 and 13. The pair are also reviving Burnistoun as a live show at the Gilded Balloon during the Edinburgh Fringe.

JOHNNY VEGAS has started filming his new sitcom, Home From Home, in the Lake District. In it, he plays a family man who fulfils his dream of buying a lodge – until he meets the neighbours. Scenes have been filmed at Skiddaw View Holiday Park, near Bassenthwaite Lake. Gavin And Stacey star Joanna Page and Silent Witness' Emilia Fox also appear in the pilot, which is part of the BBC's landmark sitcom season which airs later this year.

THE play about Frank Carson which we reported on yesterday has been cancelled – less than 24 hours after it was announced. Director Kevin Shepherd said star Mike McCabe, the comedian on whose experiences the show was based, had to withdraw because of ill-health.

LONDON is to get a new clown festival. Spencer Jones, Paul Currie, Boris & Sergey are among the performers taking part in the ten-night celebration at the new The Omnitorium venue in Finsbury Park in Harringay from June 10. Website.

THE HORNE SECTION, John Shuttleworth and David Trent are among the acts announced for the comedy stage of the Green Man Festival in the Brecon Beacons. Comedians also including Ivo Graham, Rob Deering and Daniel Simonsen will be joining musicals acts Belle & Sebastian, James Blake and Laura Marling at the event, which runs from August 18 to 21.
