Eddie the Eagle joins comedy festival
EDDIE 'The Eagle' Edwards has joined the line-up of the first Just For Laughs comedy festival to be held in London. The ski-jump hero will be sharing his anecdotes over two nights – July 22 and 23. Tickets for all shows at the fortnight-long event, which also includes Jim Jefferies, Piff The Magic Dragon and Gina Yashere, will go on sale tomorrow.
NETFLIX has ordered a ten-part comedy series based on the 2014 cult movie Dear White People. Creator Justin Simien is writing the adaptation, which will begin filming later this year for a 2017 debut. The show, like the movie, is set among a group of black students in an Ivy League college. THIS YEAR's Greenwich comedy festival has announced its 2016 line-up, including Nina Conti, Reginald D Hunter, Adam Buxton, Milton Jones, James Acaster, Henning Wehn, Richard Herring, Arthur Smith, Cardinal Burns and Seann Walsh. THE CORNBURY festival has announced its comedy line-up. Dane Baptiste, Carl Donnelly, Ed Gamble and Nish Kumar are among the acts taking part in the Oxfordshire festival on the weekend of July 8 to 10. Music headliners are Jamie Cullum, Bryan Ferry and Seal. Tickets, which are £200 for an adult camping pass, are available here
