David Cross announces UK dates
David Cross has announced a short run of British and Irish dates. The star of Arrested Development, Mr Show and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret will be bringing his Making America Great Again tour to Dublin's Vicar Street on June 14, followed by nights in Manchester, London, Birmingham and Leeds. Russell Howard, Mark Watson, Russell Kane, Joe Lycett, Sarah Millican and Alan Carr will be performing at this year's Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, it has been announced today. Jimmy Carr has previously been confirmed for a five-night solo run at the event, which runs from July 13 to 31.
NOT GOING OUT has been nominated for a major international TV award. Lee Mack's sitcom is up for the comedy prize at the Banff Rockie Awards alongside America's Silicon Valley and Big Bang Theory; Canada's Dumped; Israel's Little Mom and Belgium's The Natives. The festival takes place in the Alberta ski resort fron June 12 to 15.
MEANWHILE, Catastrophe, Peter Kay's Car Share and Chewing Gum have been shortlisted in the comedy category of this year's South Bank Sky Arts awards, which will be handed out a ceremony hosted by Melvyn Bragg on June 5.
COMEDIANS are to play tribute to Half Man Half Biscuit at a one-off Edinburgh Fringe gig to mark more than 30 years of the sardonic rock band. The likes of Phil Nichol, Seymour Mace, Alexis Dubus and Jonny & The Baptists will take part in Some Men All Biscuit, which takes place in the Voodoo Rooms on August 17 in aid of Shelter Scotland.
