Student comedy award: Oxford votes are open

Votes have now opened for the People's Choice award for the Oxford leg of the Chortle Student Comedy award.

The heat was won by Lizzy Mansfield, a third year Physics and Philosophy student originally from Newcastle, with a surreal storytelling routine. She goes straight through to the semi-finals.

Now you can choose which of the other acts will go forward to a second vote to fill the two People's Choice places in the semi-finals. Polls close at 10pm on Thursday.

The last vote, for the London heat, was decisively won by Mary O'Connell, we can announce today.

Meanwhile Eric Rushton won last night's heat in Warwick University, where he studies maths, and Bristol Italian and Spanish student Tom Gidman triumphed in his uni town on Sunday.
