Simon Brodkin invades VW presentation

‘I have a new cheat box'

Simon Brodkin has struck again – pranking a Volkswagen executive over the comapany's emissions scandal.

The comic, who showered scandal-hit Fifa chief Sepp Blatter with dollar bills last summer, interrupted a VW presentation at the Geneva motor show this morning.

He ran across stage in VW overalls and a prop labelled 'cheat box', which he placed under the car on display.

In a German accent Brodkin, best known for his Lee Nelson alter-ego, said: 'I have a new cheat box. No one's going to find out about this one' he said.

The executive, marketing chief Jurgen Stackmann , said: 'It doesn't need repairs, it's a perfect car. Thank you.

As security led him away, Brodkin said: 'Mr Muller said it was OK as long as no one finds out about it. Did you not get the memo'

Volkswagen chief executive Matthias Müller has previously apologised after the company admitted it used illegal software in its engines, allowing them to pass laboratory emissions tests but spewing high levels of harmful nitrogen oxides when actually on the road.

Here is Brodkin's stunt
