Louis CK has won this year's Grammy award for best comedy album for Live At Madison Square Garden. Lisa Lampanelli, Wyatt Cenac, Jay Mohr and Craig Ferguson had also been nominated.

AN AUDIO book version of The Jungle Book featuring Bill Bailey, Meera Syal and Bernard Cribbins has been nominated for an Audie Awards in the US. Bailey played Baloo in the recording, made by digital publisher Audible last year to raise funds for the Zoological Society of London. Seal played Chil, Cribbins White Cobra and Richard E Grant Kaa. It's now up for the audio drama category in the audio book awards, announced in Chicago on May 11.

JAMES McINTOSH, who is studying a masters in prototype product design at Edinburgh's Napier University, is the first semi-finalist in the Chortle Student Comedy Award of 2016, having won the heat in Glasgow last night. He has made the semis before, back in 2013.

FRED MacAULAY is to headline a benefit to help motor neurone disease patient and campaigner Gordon Aikman raise £500,000 for research into the disease that’s killing him. The gig, at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow on March 14 as part of the city’s comedy festival, also includes Larry Dean, Gary Little, Mark Nelson, Scott Agnew and others. Airman said: 'I’m delighted that so many amazing comedians are coming together to help fund a cure for MND.'

NORMAN PACE is to join the cast of the Rocky Horror Show from next month. He will join fellow comedian Steve Punt and Coronation Street star Charlie Condou to share the role of The Narrator on the UK tour.
