THE LONDON heat of the Chortle Student Comedy Award will be held at the Dogstar pub in Brixton on February 23, it can be announced today. GHOST STORIES, the stage thriller created by League Of Gentleman writer Jeremy Dyson is to be made into a movie, starring Martin Freeman, George MacKay and Andy Nyman – who will direct with Dyson.

PODCAST king Adam Carolla is returning to Britain and Ireland. The comic, who holds the Guinness World Record for most downloaded podcast, after snatching the title from Ricky Gervais, is recording new episodes at the Dublin Sugar Club on June 21 and the Leicester Square Theatre in London the following night.

ANDREW DOYLE won Chortle's £100 prize for the best Correspondents piece in January, for his article about nuance in satire.

Alex Zane's clip show Rude(ish) Tube could be going global after international content distributor DRG brought the rights to all 60 half-hour episodes on the worldwide market.
