Frank Skinner 'has no show'
Frank Skinner is launching a new stand-up show, which he says will be entirely improvised.
He will take to the stage of London’s Soho Theatre for six nights starting ‘with literally nothing’ and sees what happens.
The format of The Man With No Show echoes the premise of Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned, the freeform idea he created with David Baddiel. After premiering at the 1998 Edinburgh Fringe that show transferred to the West End and was adapted for ITV, where it ran for 60 episodes over five years.
Blurb for the new stand-up dates, which run nightly from February 8, says: ‘What happens when a man wants to do stand-up comedy but doesn’t have any stand-up comedy to do? He stands in front of an audience and just hopes for the best.’
Tickets for the 9.30pm 'experiment' are just £5 and are available here. They are his first stand-up dates since 2014's Man In A Suit tour.
A spokesman said: 'This may be the first and last time that Frank takes to the stage with this show.'
Skinner currently hosts an award-winning weekly show on Absolute Radio and BBC One’s Room 101, now airing on Thursday nights. His comedy panel show The Rest is History returns to Radio 4 later this year.
