ONLINE: The latest in Matt Berry's iPlayer 'documentary' series is the seasonably spooky Matt Berry Does… Ghosts, and it'll be available from 9pm.
RADIO: Thought comedy trio Penny Dreadfuls were defunct? It appears not as Humphrey Ker, David Reed and Thom Tuck reunite for Radio 4, for a take on Homer's Odyssey. An hour-long epic full of incredible monsters and enchantress. It stars Peep Show's Robert Webb as Odysseus as well as guests Lolly Adefope and Margaret Cabourn-Smith. Radio 4, 3pm
LIVE IN LONDON: A good line-up at Up The Creek in Greenwich features Edinburgh best newcomer nominee Adam Hess, fast-rising Nish Kumar and veteran livewire Phil Nichol.
Monday October 26
LIVE IN LONDON: This is what Andy Parsons left Mock The Week for, his new Slacktivists Action Group podcast, recorded at the Soho Theatre. Tackling the big issues tonight are Geraint Davies MP, Frances O'Grady, the general secretary of the TUC and Ian Dunt, editor of politics.co.uk.
Tuesday October 27
TV: Many cheers for the return of Catastophe, written by and starring Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney, and now blundering their way through parenthood in the same way they tackled dating. This first episode revolves around an ill-considered party, and welcomes back ever-excellent Carrie Fisher as Rob's mum. Channel 4. 10pm.
LIVE IN LONDON: One of the most talked-about shows at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, Richard Gadd's high-concept Waiting For Gaddot begins a ten-night run at the Soho Theatre, full of wild, unconventional wit.Review
Wednesday October 28
LIVE IN LONDON: And another Edinburgh must-see starts its run at the Soho, with Spencer Jones delivering an hour of hilarious silliness in the guise of The Herbert - more than enough to give prop comedy a good name. Review.
LIVE IN LONDON: One for night owls and political wonks, as Erich McElroy stays up late for his Imperfect Guide to the US Presidential Debates. The American stand-up is joined by Dave Fulton, David Mills, Erich McElroy, Grainne Maguire, Nick Revell and Steve Gribbin for some political observations. Then at 1am the Republican Party debate is screened from the University of Colorado in Boulder, complete with heckling, no doubt… especially when Donald Trump makes an appearance. Top Secret Comedy Club, 11pm.
TV: Cult hit Lip Sync Battle comes to Comedy Central. Hosted by LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen, the show kicks off with a showdown between Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Jimmy Fallon. 9pm.

TV: Another fine telly comedy bakes a comeback, as Mackenzie Crooks' warm-hearted look at mild-mannered middle-aged obsession, Detectorists, returns for a new six part series. BBC Four, 10pm.
Friday October 30
LIVE IN NOTTINGHAM: Jongleurs boasts a strong-line up tonight with smartypants Adam Bloom, the dry sarcasm of John Moloney, the everyman banter of Jim Smallman, and skilled host Toby Hadoke.
LIVE IN LONDON: Richard Herring plays the Royal Albert Hall! Or at least their Elgar Room studio space, which hosts another of its stand-up nights, also featuring David Trent and Adam Hess.
Saturday October 31
LIVE IN LONDON: We all know Harry Potter's coming to the West End, but not like this… Risking the wrath of JK Rowling's lawyers, Weirdos head honcho Adam Larter has written Harry Potter and the Inappropriate Hallowe'en, an unofficial sequel taking place on the anniversary of the death of the boy wizard's parents. Larter also stars as Harry, alongside the likes of Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho comic Matt Tedford, who plays Ron Weasley, and stand-up Eleanor Morton, as Ginny. Leicester Square Theatre, 7.15pm.
