'Nan' set to hit the road

Catherine Tate is considering her first live tour, possibly as early as this spring.

The comic revealed that she was planning to take Nan and other characters on the road in an interview with Alan Carr.

When asked about live plans, Tate replied: 'I'd like to actually. I am thinking of doing a live show of Nan and sort of bringing back some of the characters, probably in the spring I'd like to do that.'

Carr asked if that was an exclusive, and Tate replied: 'It is because I've never really said it out loud. No it is. I'd like to do it. I've never been on tour. It must be great.'

And mulling over the best venues to play she mused: 'Would a sketch show work in an arena? I don't know. Should I go somewhere smaller? More intimate?'

Tate was appearing on Carr's Chatty Man show to promote her role in SuperBob, the new British superhero movie starring Brett Goldstein. She will also be back on screens as Nan for two episodes to air this Christmas.

Tate has rarely been seen performing comedy live since her 2001 Edinburgh Fringe show that got her noticed by TV bigwigs.

Alan Carr: Chatty Man is on Channel 4 at 10pm tonight.
