Ooh Betty! Frank Spencer may make a comeback
Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em could be heading for a TV return.
The BBC has confirmed it is considering reviving the slapstick comedy after star Michele Dotrice let slip that she was in talks for a comeback.
In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, the actress, who played long-suffering wife Betty, was asked if she plans to work again with Crawford and said: 'Well, I can't really say, but yes, Possibly next year – but I can't really say anything about it.'
The show ended 37 years ago but Michael Crawford, who played Frank Spencer, is also said to have been in discussions. However at 73 he might not be able to bring quite the same physicality to the role.
The BBC said: 'It's one of several shows being considered for BBC One's Landmark Sitcom Season, but nothing is confirmed as yet and none of the original cast has been approached by us.'
The season is planned to mark 60 years since Hancock's Half Hour launched on television, and will also feature a live episode of Mrs Brown's Boys.
Last month reports that another Seventies sitcom, Citizen Smith, was to be revived proved wide of the mark when the son of creator John Sullivan, who owns the rights, said: 'It's not something we would want to do.'
