Believe it!
Victor Meldrew is to be revived for a stage show.
Richard Wilson will be bringing back his One Foot In The Grave curmudgeon – but for just one night as a fundraiser for Sheffield Theatres.
The 79-year-old told the Mirror: 'I am bringing Victor back for a night. I am going to do 20 minutes of Victor because the guy who wrote One Foot In The Grave [David Renwick] wrote an episode of Victor by himself and it was a brilliant episode.'
But he joked that if the show went well, 'I would love to go to Vegas. Do you think I am too old to do a one-man show there?'
One Foot In The Grave ran for for six series between 1990 and 1995. The solo episode, The Trial, originally ran in 1993 and involved Victor spending a whole day home alone while on call for jury service.
The gig will take place at The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield on October 23 with tickets available
Wilson added: 'I am into my 80th year. I have no plans to retire as I still want to. If I did I would be bored and I would get slouchy and give up.'
