Wanted: Comedians to work with Katie Hopkins

Hated columnist launches panel show

Katie Hopkins is hoping to employ comedians to boost her career.

The hated newspaper columnist, who has likened desperate migrants to 'cockroaches', is fronting a new TV discussion show, If Katie Hopkins Ruled The World, which is set to feature comedians and other celebrities debating her views.

The show, for the TLC channel, was devised in association with Big Minded, which previously created the much-criticised Dapper Laughs On The Pull for ITV2.

It has not yet been revealed which comics have agreed to share the stage with Hopkins.

She said: 'People often tell me that I say the things they think but don't have the courage to say. In this new show I'll be the little voice inside their heads.'

As well as her rant against 'feral' migrants, Hopkins's own 'quips' include calling Nicola Sturgeon 'a short ginger poison dwarf' who should 'get the death penalty just for being ginger and being Scottish' and saying of breast cancer survivor Linda Nolan 'She is revolting. Her knockers are somewhere near her ankles.'

TLC boss Clare Laycock said: 'The show is a unique forum to thrash out the issues being ranted about in pubs, on Twitter and in living rooms across Britain.'

Seven hour-long episodes will air from August.
