RUSSELL BRAND is to take his Trew World Order tour to South Africa, with three shows announced in Johannesburg on October 1 and 2. Two years ago the comic had to abandon shows in the city after he was denied entry into South Africa because of problems with his visa.

THE second series of Catastrophe, written by and starring Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney, has been brought forward to October as Channel 4 plans an autumn comedy blitz, also featuring new series of Peep Show, Fresh Meat and Toast of London.

LENNY HENRY has confirmed press reports that he is to be knighted for his services to charity, thanks to his work with Comic Relief. He told Radio 2's Chris Evans that being told the news 'was a lovely feeling, it was like being filled with lemonade for 10 or 15 minutes'.

NETFLIX has bought the rights to Brad Pitt's army satire War Machine, based on the comic book The Operators, by US journalist Michael Hastings, who has worked in Afghanistan.
