Viewers vote for Charlie Brooker
Charlie Booker's Election Wipe attracted a healthy audience to BBC Two last night – adding to ITV's Wednesday-night comedy woes.
The eve-of-polling-day special attracted 1.9million viewers, on average, between 9pm and 10pm, beating ITV into third place.
Both Newzoids and The Delivery Man fell to series lows, attracting 1.7million and 1.2million viewers respectively. They started with 3.7 million and 2.6 million viewers respectively – meaning both have lost more than half their audience in the four weeks they have been on air.
The thirst for political comedy also helped Channel 4's super-topical Ballot Monkeys peak at 1.1million, according to Barb's overnight figures.
Meanwhile, Peter Kay's Car Share continued to do well for BBC One, attracting 5.2million at 9:30pm.
And on digital, the debut of Murder In Successville (Review) attracted 366,000 to BBC Three, just below the 10pm slot average; and Russell Howard's Stand Up Central, comfortably beat Comedy Central's average with 110,000 viewers.
