Following her stand-up tour

Elaine C Smith’s first stand-up tour in a decade is to captured for a TV documentary.

Birds Eye View is being billed as the Scottish comedian’s first lead TV role since playing Mary Doll in Rab C Nesbitt

The show, to air on STV next year, will follow Smith across Scotland’s seaside holiday resorts.

Elizabeth Partyka, deputy director of channels at STV said: ‘Elaine will take, for the first time ever, a quintessential Glaswegian trip “doon the water” to places like Arbroath, North Berwick and Port Patrick. As well as following her one woman show she’ll meet characters along the way.’
