With Stanhope, Jefferies and Silverman

Doug Stanhope, Jim Jefferies and Sarah Silverman are to star in a movie sequel about a struggling stand-up.

Still Punching The Clown follows the semi-fictionalised trials and tribulations of musical comedian Henry Phillips as he tries to make it in Los Angeles without selling out his integrity.

It comes six years after the original, Punching The Clown, won the award for or best narrative feature at the Slamdance Film Festival.

The sequel also features comics Tig Notaro and Nikki Glaser, King Of The Hill creator Mike Judge, Drunk History creator Derek Waters,Fox News analyst Ellen Ratner, and actors J.K. Simmons and Ginger Gonzaga.

It will reunite Phillips with director Gregori Viens, who helmed the original, Hollywood industry website Deadline reports.

Filming wrapped three weeks ago, and the movie is due our next year.
