Stand bosses' new deal on Assembly Rooms

Contract for a fourth Edinburgh Fringe

The owner of The Stand comedy clubs has signed a deal to operate The Assembly Rooms again at next year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

Salt ‘n’ Sauce Promotions will operate the historic venue for the forth year, under the new contract with Edinburgh City Council.

Managing director Tommy Sheppard said hew was ‘delighted’ with the news, adding: ‘We look forward to welcoming back some of the amazing performers which have made previous years so special, while also making room for some new and exciting talent.’

The company is now inviting expressions of interest for inclusion in the 2015 programme.

Salt ‘n’ Sauce took over the venue at the 2012 Fringe after it was closed for an 18-month, £9.3million redevelopment. It was formerly run by Assembly Theatre, which has since moved to George Square.
