Drinks all round!
Jimmy Carr has become the latest comedian to buy his entire audience a round of drinks after showing up late for a gig.
He spent a reported £4,000 on the gesture after being delayed by two hours on the train to King George's Hall in Blackburn on Friday night.
En route, Carr tweeted: ‘Train broken down on the way to Blackburn. But the show must go on. Sure hope I'm funny when I get there.’
He then added: ‘Sorry for the delay Blackburn - hope I'm not spoiling your Friday night. Have a drink on me while you wait. See you around 9.30pm.’
One fan, Ryan Laird, posted an image of three drinks with the message: ‘Probably won't even remember Jimmy Carr by the time he gets here. The free drinks are appreciated though'
It follows two other incidents this year. In March, Jason Manford kicked off the trend when delayed 40 minutes for his show in Lincoln, racking up a £3,500 bill. And in June John Bishop spent £1,000 on drinks for his audience in Northampton.
