Jason co-hosts game show with Kate Humble

Jason Byrne is to front a new wildlife-themed gameshow, Wild Things.

With elements of It's A Knockout, the Sky 1 show features couples taking on a huge woodland obstacle course – one of them dressed in a giant costume such as a badger, owl or mole. The costume means that they cannot see anything so will have to be guided by their partner.

Byrne is to co-present the show with Kate Humble, the broadcaster announced today.

He said: 'I'm really proud to be a part of Wild Things, one of the funniest and funnest shows I've ever worked on. It's not often I cry laughing at a badger bashing a duck while an owl bowls them over to the ground. But then again, who wouldn't find that funny?

Humble added: 'Wild Things is one of the most gloriously silly, side-splittingly funny programmes I have ever had the pleasure of being involved with. Wildlife has never behaved so badly.'

The show, originally commissioned in August, will air next year.
