New series for People Just Do Nothing

BBC Three mockumentary People Just Do Nothing is to return for a second series.

Five more half-hour episodes about West London pirate radio station Kurupt FM have been ordered by the BBC.

The show started as a YouTube series, and an online pilot was made for the BBC's Comedy Feed strand in 2012. A four-part series followed on BBC Three earlier this year, following an iPlayer debut.

It stars Allan 'Seapa' Mustafa as self-proclaimed garage legend MC Grindah, Hugo Chegwin as his second in command, DJ Beats and Asim Chaudhry as crew fixer and self-styled entrepreneur Chabuddy G.

Executive producer Ash Atalla, from Roughcut Television, said: 'When new talent is this good, and this cheap, the BBC insists on a second series. In truth, I think People Just Do Nothing is at the start of a successful journey. I fully expect to see the boys looking awkward in tuxedos making a misjudged acceptance speech someday soon.'

Commissioning Editor Chris Sussman said: 'I’m delighted we’ve re-commissioned this series. I know for a fact it’s one of the Director-General’s favourites. I once saw him in the lifts throwing his Ks up.'
