Sky grabs Lisa Kudrow's Comeback
Sky Atlantic has picked up the rights to air Lisa Kudrow's comedy The Comeback.
It has bought the eight-episode second series in which the former Friends actress plays fading sitcom star Valerie Cherish, who signs up to a new show – and also an associated reality show in which she's filmed around the clock.
Set in Los Angeles, The Comeback first aired in 2005 but was axed by HBO after one series. But appropriately enough decided to revive it for the limited series, which kicks off in the States on Sunday.
Kudrow said: 'It was almost too fun play Valerie Cherish the first time around. I look forward to revisiting this resilient and ironically self-unaware character.'
The second series of The Comeback will launch on Sky Atlantic in early 2015. In addition, the first series will be available On Demand beforehand.
Kudrow created the The Comeback with 2 Broke Girls mastermind Michael Patrick King. The cast also includes Lance Barber, Dan Bucatinsky, Robert Michael Morris, Laura Silverman and Damian Young.
