MATT BERRY's Toast of London attracted 426,000 viewers to Channel 4 last night – up 18 per cent on the 361,000 viewers who watched the opening episode of the first series last year. It represents a 3.4 per cent of the total audience between 10.35pm and 11.05pm.

ALAN DAVIES has announced a spring extension of his Little Victories tour. He has added 14 dates, starting on February 27 in London's Hackney Empire, ending on March 28 at the Swansea Grand.

STAND-UP PJ Gallagher is to host a new breakfast show on Irish radio station 4FM. He will start at 6am on Monday November 10m co-presenting with former 2FM DJ Damien Farrelly.

BENJI WATERSTONES, a 30-year-old trainee psychiatrist originally from Northumberland, won the Beat The Frog World Series new act title at the Frog and Bucket in Manchester last night. He was a So You Think You're Funny? finalist in Edinburgh this summer, too. Mateusz Jurczynski took second place.
