COUNT ARTHUR STRONG will transfer from BBC Two to BBC One for its second series, due to air early next year, co-writer Graham Linehan has announced on Twitter.
JASON MANFORD, Ben Miller and Jon Culshaw have been named as being among the guests for Bruce's Hall of Fame – Sir Bruce Forsyth's BBC One special to be filmed at the London Palladium tonight. Jamie Cullum, Jessie Wallace and Alfie Boe are also on the bill. The broadcast date has not yet been confirmed.
STEPHEN FRY has signed up to appear in the Slapstick festival of silent and vintage screen comedy in Bristol. He will be appearing at an event called Ginger Geezer on January 25 to pay tribute to one of his comedy heroes, Vivian Stanshall, who was killed in a fire 20 years ago. Fry said: 'Vivian Stanshall saved my life. Alone at school, his Mullard-valve-warming voice, his poetic expression, his majesty, madness, tone, dignity and verbal sloshings, sluicings and whooshings made me happier than I can ever say. His name should live long in legend and song.'
THE SECOND series of Vicious is to air in the States, after PBS confirmed that it has picked up the next six episodes of the ITV1 sitcom starring Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi. It will air in the US next summer, although no UK broadcast date has yet been confirmed,
STEPHEN COLBERT has announced that the last day of his US Comedy Central series The Colbert Report will be December 18. He takes over from David Letterman on The Late Show on CBS next year.
