About a lying journalist

Ricky Gervais is to write, direct and star in a new movie about an arrogant radio journalist.

Eric Bana will take the lead role in Special Correspondent, about a reporter who fakes front line war reports from the comfort of his hideout above a Spanish restaurant in Manhattan.

The movie – described as a satirical comedy drama – is scheduled to commence shooting in Vancouver and New York in the spring of 2015.

Gervais will play Bana’s radio technician side-kick.

His previous movie credits include Ghost Town, The Night At The Museum trilogy and Muppets Most Wanted.
