Limmy up for two Scottish Baftas
Glasgow comic Limmy has been nominated for two Scottish Baftas.
The Christmas special of Limmy’s Show, which aired on BBC Two Scotland, is up for best entertainment show, while the man himself is up for best TV or film writer.
The show previously won the entertainment Bafta in 2011 and 2013. This time it faces competition from Mrs Brown’s Boys, which is shot in Glasgow, and Miller’s Mountain, the one-off Comedy Playhouse pilot made for BBC One nationwide, which has now been picked up for a full series and renamed Mountain Goats.
In the writing category Limmy, real name Brian Limond, faces competitor from Jonathan Asser for prison movie Starred Up and David Wolstencroft for The Escape Artist, the three-part thriller starring David Tennant.
Comedian Sanjeev Kohli’s show Blethering Referendum has been nominated in the current affairs category, where it is up against the Channel 4 show Dave: Loan Ranger and Panorama: All In A Good Cause, about the charity industry.
The Scottish Baftas will be handed out in Glasgow on Sunday November 16.
