Honor Blackman joins Gold's sitcom
HONOR BLACKMAN will be making a guest appearance in the second series of Gold’s sitcom, You, Me & Them. She will play the eccentric mother of Anthony Head’s central character Ed when the show returns next year. Steve North, general manager of Gold, said: ‘Honor Blackman may be the same age as the Queen and it is 50 years since she played Pussy Galore, but she is still beautiful, mesmerising and a legendary actress.'
RELEASE DATES have been confirmed for more stand-up DVDs this autumn: Series three of Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle on November 10 (Buy); Sarah Millican (Buy) and Miranda Hart (Buy) on November 17 and Russell Howard on November 24 (Buy).
PEEP SHOW's ninth and final series is likely to air at the end of next year, the Radio Times reports.
LENNY HENRY is to appear in the third series of BBC One drama The Syndicate, set in a crumbling country mansion. He will play gardener Godfrey in the series, which has just begun shooting. He said of the show's creator: 'I've been a big fan of Kay Mellor's since Band of Gold and Playing the Field, so to actually be on set with her as writer/director is just lovely.'
AMY POEHLER is to produce a new comedy about 'a young, agnostic woman who inherits a church and the crew of strong-willed characters who make up her new community', Hollywood website Deadline reports.
