Rowan revives character for Snickers ad

Rowan Atkinson has revived Mr Bean – for a Snickers advert.

The hapless character returns in a 70-second spoof of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon-style martial arts films.

The gag is that stealthy Samurai warrior Cheung 'isn't himself when he's hungry', so is portrayed as clumsy Bean until he eats a chocolate bar to regain his skills.

It follows a similar advert in which a burly rugby player was seen as Joan Collins acting like a diva, until he'd eaten the Snickers.

Atkinson previously played an inept spy in a series of advert for Barclaycard in the 1980s and 1990s – a character which went on to become Johnny English.

He filmed the Snickers ad in Shanghai in the summer, including scenes not in this commercial, suggesting there may be a follow-up.

Mr Bean was last seen at the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony.
