BBC Two honours Julie Walters
BBC TWO is to make an hour-long documentary about Julie Walters to tie in with her becoming a Bafta Fellow. The programme, which has the working title Julie Walters: In Their Words will cover her comedy career, including Wood & Walters and Dinnerladies, as well as films such as Educating Rita and Billy Elliot.
CHARLIE SHEEN says he has approached producers of Two And A Half Men about making a guest appearance in the last ever episode of the sitcom – despite being fired in 2011 following a very public falling-out with show creator Chuck Lorre. However Warner Bros. Television executives have insisted he won't be returning, after his character Charlie Harper was killed off.
Sean Lock is to join the Comedy Store Players for the first time. The 8 Out Of 10 Cats comic will be performing with the London-based improvisers this Sunday, appearing alongside Josie Lawrence, Lee Simpson, Neil Mullarkey, Richard Vranch and Andy Smart.
PLEBS brought a big audience to ITV2 when it returned last night, with a double-bill attracting 763,000 and 649,000 viewers respectively. Although the numbers are down on the 918,000 who saw the first series debut last year, they are well above the average of 422,000 that slot on ITV2 normally attracts.
CHELSEA HANDLER's latest stand-up special, Uganda Be Killing Me, is to be released on Netflix on October 10, the on-demand service has announced. She performed a version of the show in London in July (Review).
