Radio 4 show for Terry Alderton
Comedian and EastEnders actor Terry Alderton is to star in his own Radio 4 series.
The stand-up – whose set involves him turning away from the audience as he gives voice to his inner doubts – is to record four episodes of Terry Alderton’s All Crazy Now.
Set to air next summer, it is being made by Edinburgh-based Dabster Productions, which recently made fellow comic John Moloney’s Radio 4 series, too.
Producer Richard Melvin said: “The show presents us with a unique set of challenges as we attempt to capture the comedic genius and chaos that Terry bring to all of his performances.
‘Think stand-up comedy meets the Numbskulls – and you’ll have as much of an idea as we do of what that show’s going to sound like.’
Alderton has just left EastEnders after a year with the soap, playing cab driver Terry Spraggan.
Meanwhile, Dabster is also making a one-off Radio 4 show with Scottish stand-up Julia Sutherland.
Julia Sutherland’s Fat Chance, based on her live show of the same name which debuted at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, is her comic account of losing six stone in weight. A mix of stand-up and sketches, the programme is expected to air in March.
