Jason Byrne is to make a series for Irish broadcaster TV3 based on celebrities' embarrassing childhood snaps and other funny photographs. The channel today confirmed that Jason Byrne’s Snaptastic Show, a mixture of talk show and stand-up, is to go into production at its new studios in Dublin.

RICKY GERVAIS has been named the most influential Twitter user in London, according to social analytics company PeerIndex. He scored of 97 out of 100 on their scale, which considers retweets and favourites as well as just follower numbers, one point ahead of the likes of Caitlin Moran and Stephen Fry.

THE BBC's radio comedy department is running sessions for would-be writers, giving tips on what they are looking for and on how to develop skills.
