Tig Notatro pulls UK dates
AMERICAN comic Tig Notaro has cancelled all but one of her UK dates next month. Her UK publicist cited 'unforeseen circumstances' for the decision, but could not reveal more. No official announcement has been made but ticket-holders for the cancelled gigs are being contacted about rends. Her date in London's Shepherds Bush Empire on September 1 is unaffected, but subsequent shows in Birmingham, Salford and Glasgow have been pulled. Notaro was lauded after announcing that she had been treated for breast cancer in a heartfelt routine in 2012, and is now in remission.
RADIO 4 has commissioned another series of Simon Evans Goes To Market, in which the stand-up examines major economic issues. Another four episodes are to be made for broadcast next year. Evans tweeted: 'Many thanks to everyone who listened to and enjoyed series one and especially those who said so in any medium. It really helps.'
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT could be making a return, according to Netflix content boss Ted Sarandos. He said he was 'positive' about another season of sitcom, adding: 'It's just a matter of when.' He said he agreed with criticism that the cast didn't appear together enough during the fourth season, and hopes to fix that for the next.
Tim Key has announced a 15-date tour of his new show, Single White Slut. It kicks off in Colchester on September 23 and ends in Oxford on October 16. Dates and review.
