Second series for Susan Calman gameshow

A tight 5: August 5

SUSAN CALMAN's Scottish game show The Lie has been commissioned for a second series. In the STV show, which first ran this spring, a team of two contestants must spot the one lie from a set of otherwise true statements. The news comes days after Calman was commissioned to write a sitcom for Radio 4, Sisters.

TIM RENKOW has been crowned winner of the Amused Moose Laugh Off, taking home a £1,500 prize. Archie Maddocks and Don Tran were named runners-up at the final at the Edinburgh Fringe.

ITV HAS ordered a full series of the sitcom The Delivery Man, which stars Darren Boyd as a male midwife. Aisling Bea co-stars in the series, which was piloted earlier this year and was created by Robert Harley and James Henry, previously writers on Channel 4's Green Wing. It is set to go into production this autumn and air in 2015.

RADIO 4 has ordered a second series of its sitcom Hobby Bobbies, about community policing in a small Midlands town. Written by Dave Lamb – the comedian who does the Come Dine With Me voiceover – the cast includes Slade singer Noddy Holder as the father of the main character Geoff (Richie Webb). Recording starts next month.

CHANNEL 4 has acquired the rights to US sitcom Marry Me, which is expected to air on E4. The romantic comedy, set to launch on NBC in October, is written by David Caspe, creator of the Happy Endings sitcom, and loosely based on his real-life marriage to actress Casey Wilson, who stars in both shows.
