Hollywood script deal for Laura Solon

Female-led workplace comedy optioned

Laura Solon has signed a script deal with Hollywood studio Universal.

They have optioned a female-led workplace comedy from the 2005 Perrier-winner. Her script is currently called Work It, but industry website Deadline reports that it will be given a new title.

Other plot details have been kept upper wraps, but the deal also involves Bluegrass Films, the production company whose credits include Seth Macfarlane's Ted and A Million Ways To Die In The West.

Solon previously made an acclaimed short film with Ben Willbond, Tooty's Wedding, which was screened as part of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

Now based in Los Angeles, she has been developing scripts for the ABC network; and this year has been writing on Hot in Cleveland, a sitcom that airs on TV Land and stars Betty White and Jane Leeves.
